I created one of my own - the neroli in it is driving me insane.

I bought Bitter Orange, Sweet Orange and real 100% Neroli. It arrived today; i used a drop of each and it is heavenly. Sure it doesn't have the packaging but I think it will work out to be as lovely. I truly was inspired by the description of the scent (and I got a sample which mesmerised me and obsessed my mind) Unfortunately, a 100ml (3.4oz) bottle is $295.

In 2005 L'Artisan Parfumeur commenced their Harvest Series with the release of Fleur d'Oranger. So exquisite and so popular was the fragrance of orange blossoms from Nabeul, that ever since the company has been looking for a harvest of equal beauty and quality. 2007 became the year that yielded another exceptional harvest, which was used to create a new limited edition. No two harvests can be the same, that is what is so attractive about this concept. The connoisseurs will be able to smell subtle differences in the 2005 and 2007 creations, however, the radiant beauty of the orange blossom in Fleur d'Oranger 2007 is as breathtaking as in the earlier perfume. Created by perfumer Anne Flipo, this is the ultimate orange blossom, a precious gem of a perfume, in which all facets of the complex aroma are equally highlighted. At once innocent and sensual, the scent is an enthralling combination of mouthwatering, juicy freshness and nectarous, carnal warmth. The composition pays homage to all parts of the orange tree, neroli, orange essential oil, the seed, extract of the twig, the bud and the leaves, each of them emphasizing the dazzling beauty of the blossoms. This is the ethereal scent of Tunisian orange trees in blossom, of summer, of happiness, of eternal sunshine.

For this exceptional harvest, the facets of the 100 ml bottle are engraved with orange blossoms, the bottle is numbered (only 6, 000 bottles are produced), and wrapped in specially printed silk paper. It is presented in a luxurious wooden box wrapped with a ribbon and engraved on four sides. <clip>

        thanks, chloe.i'll check them out
i don't often use oils, but i'll see what else they have.
i just got a new bottle of l'artisan's dzing! love this stuff.
but for some reason i've been craving hiris for a couple of weeks now; luckily i have a lot of it. it's great in cool weather.
        • i don't use oils much either n! but i just loved the scent of that unaffordable L'Artisan that i'm going to give it a try. in fact, i am contemplating formulating a perfume with alcohol fixative and everything. i LOVE dzing!. what's hiris like?

            ahh, hiris.
*gazes wistfully far away, soft smile on face*
it is iris based (the iris bulb), so if you dont like the iris note, don't even bother.
it took me a while to fall for it; i first tried it in the summer, a few years ago, and it made me literaly sick, slightly nauseated.
i thought i had a bad sample; it just couldnt be that bad!
i kept trying, with other samples, alas, nauseated still. eventually i gave up.
one autumn evening i stumbled upon my sample and thought, who knows, it might just happen this time; so i put some on and the magic
happened! it was simply gorgeous! it maid me instanly happy.
the top is just splendid; very dry and green, almost sharp. then it calms and reveals layers of wood and wet dirt and small-garden air.
later it become softer and somewhat powdery, but still dry and cool.
it is an evocative scent, expressionistic in its nature. very sophisticated and high end, unlike anything main stream.
my mother fell for it as soon as she tried it, she wears it year round. my husband liked it right away too(he doesn't wear it, but he might. maybe layered with something else. i spray him with all kinda shit, i'm a very bad wife.)
i hope you'll try it; they must have it in any hermes boutique in ny, in any dep.store.
let me know if you do. have you tried any other hermes scents?
btw, it was made by olivia giacobetti, i love her stuff.

it's funny how some perfume grow on you; you may hate one at first, and a few months later it makes you swoon and you can't do without it.

and oh yes, l'artisan's ones are costly! i got my dzing for 68$, it was a tester, so only like 75% full. i feel so rich now that i have it!

            keep warm,
            noa
